Quick Start Guide#

If you’re a beginner and want to run your first simulations with ASAP, we recommend starting on your local computer and using the embedded SIESTA. This simplifies the process by fetching a pre-compiled SIESTA serial executable and automatically configuring ASAP to use it.

Download SIESTA#

Open ASAP and go to Help → Install SIESTA…

Help --> Install SIESTA
ASAP automatically detects the available SIESTA versions compatible with your operative system. You can then select one of the available versions (4.1, 5.0, or 5.2) and choose the desired flavor (MPI or serial).
Click the Install and Configure button to download SIESTA and automatically configure ASAP to link with it.
The process may take a few seconds.
